Update from Denver

Hello Everyone....
It's been awhile since anyone has posted-you guys will have to respond to let me know if you're all still checking in and reading this. I must first apologize-I intended to keep in touch with all of you and I have been awful!!! (you'd think after the number of times I've moved, I would learn to be better about that) I promise I will do my part to call and email you guys more often and I'll have to depend on you to spread the news to each other.
My congrats go out to Mitch and the family-I saw the pictures and I am just so happy for you. I have no doubt that you are such a great dad.
As far as life here-it seems like it's been a whirlwind!! We are still working on the house (although it's nothing like the Tacoma house-which I do miss). We have had some friends over a couple of times and it's so comfortable. We are just in defrost mode here which means nice warm days and the muddiest paws you can imagine on Larry-great for the carpet. We are still in skiing and snowboarding mode but looking forward to the days of hiking and camping. I love it here!
As for the job.....as some of you know I went in a whole new direction. While I was waiting for the MST position to start, I applied for a temp position with a staffing agency right around the corner from our house. I was working PT as a receptionist in the staffing agency just to earn some money. While I was there, the ladies I worked with were just so much fun. I looked forward to going to work everyday. They told me that they were looking for a FT recruiter. I admitted that I was interested to hear more about it. They explained the position, benefits, salary, etc. and it was really an offer I couldn't refuse. I really debated and prayed about it for quite awhile-I'm sure you can all understand the stuggle I felt to use the degree I just devoted 2 years of my life to vs. an opportunity that I truely felt was a better fit for me. I must admit a huge weight on my shoulders was the reaction I would face from all of you (I hate that that affects me so much). I am truely happy and looking back, I know I made the right decision for me. I'm not closing the door on therapy by any means, but I am putting it on hold for awhile. I would love to hear updates about all of you and the jobs your working in, the sig. others in your lives, and just everything else.

I miss you all so much. Matt and I should be coming up there in June for Matt's sister's graduation. We're hoping to make a long weekend out of it to give us time to see everyone that we want to. I will keep you all posted.

Someone post back so I know that this blog is still up and running=I look at it often actually to see how you all are doing and I really look forward to it-keep the posts coming!!!

Talk to you soon-Megan

Hey Megan,

Thank you for posting! I look at this blog almost every day, too, and am always hoping someone will write something. Of course, I never write anything! : ) I need to figure out how to log on under my actual name instead of PLUMFT2006. Also, it would be nice to have something to report. Right now I'm just enjoying my lady of leisure life of just having one job. It is time to make some decisions, however, so I will....right after I do my taxes.

I didn't know about your new job. The last I heard about was the MST job, which sounded great. If you found a better job than that, then WooHoo!! That's fabulous!! I say it's okay not to be doing therapy. The important thing is what you mentioned, "a good fit" for you. The education wasn't lost and is valuable and will help you even if you don't ever end up having a therapy job. I'm really glad you got this degree because I loved doing it with you. You're a great therapist and good at everything you do really, so it doesn't even matter if you never end up doing therapy or if you do it at some other time in your life. What does matter is enjoying where you are and what you are doing. We spend a whole lot of time at work, and so many people are unhappy in their jobs. It's nice to find a job you love. Whatever that is.

Are you still selling Mary Kay? If so, I have a customer for you. My cousin Janice has a few products she can't live without, and I told her she needs to start buying them from you. She said she will. So, if you're still in it, I'll give you her number.

It was so nice to hear from you, and I hope I get to see you in June. That would be fun!

Margie, not PLUMFT2006.

Great to hear how positive you are...and why not?? A job with benefits that you love going to and it's right around the corner!!! (But don't forget, you are a great therapist.....) I envy you guys being in the middle of such natural beauty. Enjoy the outdoors all you can. Look forward to seeing you in June. Much love...
