I need a new car....

Hello all...
Well I'll break from my tradition of writing novels in my posts and give you a quick update of life in Denver. I ended up finding a temp job (not ideal....but I was about to go wait in line at the local soup kitchen so....) It has actually been a really nice experience...I'm an adminstrative assistant with a credit union and I'm only assigned to work there for about a month-my day consists of turning on the lights, signing for packages, and then sitting on my ass surfing the web for new jobs...sounds tough right. (It actually gets frustrating because I feel like my brain is melting away-but everyone has been really sweet so I can't complain.) It figures that as soon as I land a position where I'm no longer available to interview anytime I want I get phone calls for interviews. Don't get me wrong-I'm not complaining-It feels good to be getting some calls back for jobs in our field. I had one today for a Multi-Systemic Therapist position that I'm actually really excited about-so keep your fingers crossed for me and I'll let you all know how it goes.

Matt and I moved into our townhome last weekend and have spent a lot of time (including Thanksgiving) painting....it's coming along but of course we keep finding new things to add to the list of things we want to do to this place. (As if we didn't have enough fun with the Tacoma house!) I'll post some pictures when we get a little further along. We do have plenty of guest room now so pack your bags!!!

Other than that we are just hanging out looking at all the snow-we had a huge storm come in on Tues. (Same one you all got I'm sure) Matt has been telling me for months that I need to get new tires and of course did I listen??? I woke up on Wed. morning terrified to attempt to drive to work. Matt just kept giving me words of encouragement:"there's no way you'll make it to work....I don't think you should drive..etc" After talking to both of our bosses, we realized that we were the only two people in the state of Colorado that viewed the storm as "big" and the roads "bad"-so now we are both just late for work. I got in my car like a champ and started to drive at top speeds of 7 mph. My car was definitely swerving all over the place and then came the hill....my brakes decided they did not want to work and then the ass of my car began to spin around into oncoming traffic...mind you this is all about 30 seconds away from my house and I still have about 27 miles to go. This is about the point that I begin sobbing and praying out loud to please let me make it home in one piece...I can only imagine what my neighboring drivers though when they looked over at me....I don't know if I'm cut out for driving in the snow (especially with bald tires and two wheel drive...) I missed a day of work (and pay) and went and bought four new tires for a car I'm hoping to sell in the near future. I would like to get a SUV so I can throw Larry in back.

That's the update for now (I rambled on longer than I thought) I'll try to keep the news coming-miss you all so much!!!
Megan
