News...

Hello! I hope all is well with everyone out there. First update... Mike and I are moving in together! More accurately, I'm moving in with him. A big decision but after much thought and conversation, it is the right decision for us. I probably won't be officially living at his place (in Bellevue) until the end of the month, though I do spend the majority of my time here now. Capone prefers this : ).

Second update, Mike received his MCAT scores back. He did even better on them than the first time he took them!! He plans to apply to more schools, even some super swanky ones like Duke and Harvard. Along with this great news (no more waiting/stressing!), he has an interview at Virginia Commonwealth in November! We are going to Richmond, baby! Having never been to the east coast, I'm super excited for our trip! Any recommendations from my many-traveled colleagues?

My friend, Gaea and Alex, were married this weekend. It was such a beautiful outdoor wedding!! I cried numerous times... I love how weddings reflect so much about the couple themselves ; ). It was pretty hilarious to hear the wedding party speeches which consisted of "how they met online" stories. I can't help but think of all of us with similar experiences! So congrats to the happy couple!!

I look forward to reading new posts, as not all of us can make it to the exclusive South Sound luncheons ; )!

Happy Labor Day!

Hello all,
Yeah to Susanne on baby number two!
Hmmm....what's going on in the life of Shannon......well, I have been wanting a kitten since July, so Mike and I were at PetSmart 2 weeks ago and they had an adoption center, so of course they had kittens and Mike told me I should get the orange kitten, so since I'm such a hard sell of course I got the kitten. His name is Buster and her is a short haired orange and white striped, he was a stray that was brought into the Oasis pet shelter in Whidbey Island. When I got him he looked and acted healthy but after about an hour at the house he started sneezing and not eating or drinking, so to the vet we went. He had a cold/flu, 3 ulcers on his tongue, and some sort of stomach bacteria. So, I have become an expert cat nurse. He has to take medication twice a day and there are 4 different medicines. Now, you might think one kitten would be enough and that my big kitty, Buddy, would not need anymore friends....but that is not true. There was another kitten in the cage with Buster and he didn't get adopted :-( so last week he came home to my house to join Buster and Buddy. His name is Einstien and he is medium to long haired black and grey kitty. He did not come with any problems like Buster. But Buster is very good at sharing so now all my cats are sneezing and have to take medication. So, I'm thinking of adding cat nurse to my resume and see if that will boost my credentials :-) The kittens are friendly so I just hope they stay that way so when you all visit they will snuggle with you. So far I'm thinking Janett and Joy will like Einstien because he snuggles the most.
Portland Crystal had her wedding this weekend so Mike and I went down to participate in that, it was great, open bar-that is always appreciated, the ceremony and reception were good to, lots of people actually danced, I even stepped on the dance floor after many drinks. :-) Now the next time I go to Portland it will actually be for a vacation and not wedding based trips. Yeah! That's about all that is going on in the life of Shannon. I hope your all doing tons of fun things and finding or working in jobs you enjoy. Work should be fun!
I hope you all can relax on your day off-actually I hope you all have the day off-Joy, I'm talking about you. Enjoy the first week of September!
