Orders are in

Hi Everyone.

We got our our orders......

If I thought moving to Kentucky was bad, the Army has better ideas for me to experience what is bad. We got orders to Ft. Benning Georgia. It's located on the Georgia Alabama border.

When I called my dad last night (who has 22 years military service under his belt) to let him know, the first thing that came out of his mouth was...."UGH!, sweetheart, you're going to HATE Georgia."

It was deja vu. Greg said the exact same thing, replacing sweetheart with Susanne. So, the two men who know me best think I'm going to hate it. I'm determined to enjoy it ;) and prove them wrong. Although both of them told me that Columbus is a racist area. (scary) They both told me that everyone there is racist. Blacks, whites, Jews, Christians......... And from what I've learned about the south so far is that everyone is VERY conservative, which makes me stand out like a sore thumb. SO we have liberal Susanne, who is entirely against the war, married to a soldier, going to live in the deep south. Lets hope I can keep my mouth shut so I don't get myself killed;)
I've started looking for job and a home. Yet, I'm still hoping that the Army personal made some sort of SERIOUS mistake and accidentally gave us someone else's orders. (Georgia wasn't even on our list of choices!!!) If not, wish me some SERIOUS luck!!!!!

Regardless, we're likely to visit WA in the late spring, so I'll be wanting...no DEMANDING to see everyone!!!!

For some reason, this stupid thing won't let me comment. That's GREAT NEWS that you got a job!! If we end up in CO, I'm actually REALLY hoping to do outreach so I don't have to leave Christopher at day care all day. I figure if I can work in the evenings, Greg can watch him while I work and there will only have to be a few hours of over lap for day care.

Anyway, that's great news!! We, of course, STILL have not found out where we are going..............bleh. Stupid Army.

I FINALLY got a job!!!!

Hello All....
Well it's official-I finally got a job! What a relief!!!!! I was hired with a company called Griffith Center to provide MST services in Denver. I'll be contracted which is nice (I'll get to choose my hours for the most part and the pay is amazing) the only downside is that all of the therapy is provided in home. (I actually haven't ventured to do that yet and the thought terrifies me, so send me your positive experiences and thoughts about outreach (keep the negative ones to yourself) :) The only other downside is that the position does not start until mid Feb. (so I may still be looking for one more temp job to hold me over-you know how Christmas can wipe you out financially!)
Hope everyone else had a good Christmas (ours was very quiet) Thanks to everyone who sent the text messages. I'm thinking about all of you often-I miss you!!! (And I'm totally jealous of Katherine being in Hawaii for so long!!!!) Talk to you soon.
